SANAA, Yemen (AP) — Yemen’s warring sides have exchanged 64 bodies of their fallen, local media and tribal leaders said. The handover between the country’s Houthi rebels and Saudi Arabia marked the latest in reconciliation efforts amid Yemen’s yearslong conflict. The rare exchange took place on Wednesday near the Saudi border town of Nahran, according to the Houthi-run al-Masirah TV and three tribal leaders. All three tribesmen spoke on condition of anonymity fearing reprisals. The TV reported that remans of 58 rebels were handed over by Riyadh, while the Iran-backed Shiite rebels handed over the bodies of six Saudi soldiers. There was no immediate comment from the kingdom on the exchange. The handover marked the third exchange of bodies between the Houthis and Saudi Arabia since the war began, al-Masirah TV said. The two sides have also exchanged prisoners in organized swaps brokered by the United Nations. An independent infractions panel handed a two-year show-cause penalty and a 10-game suspension to former LSU and current McNeese State men’s basketball coach Will Wade on Thursday for multiple rules violations. The ruling came from a panel of the Independent Accountability Resolution Process (IARP) and determined Wade failed to report potential violations, provided cash payments to prevent the disclosure of potential violations and failed to cooperate with the investigation. The case also included violations tied to the Tigers’ football program, leading to both programs being placed on probation following previous self-imposed penalties. The basketball case originally grew from the federal corruption investigation into college basketball, with LSU firing Wade in March 2022. He was hired by McNeese State earlier this season. The show-cause penalty through June 2025 means Wade cannot perform any off-campus recruiting activities during April and summer evaluation periods. The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment continues to track COVID numbers including daily new COVID cases, hospitalizations and deaths. The main metrics used to gauge COVID's respective danger to the community are now all as low or lower than they were in March 2020 when former President Donald Trump declared a national emergency. The search for a missing submersible with five people aboard took a bleak turn Thursday when the U.S. Coast Guard said a debris field was found at the bottom of the ocean near the Titanic, and the critical 96-hour mark passed when breathable air could have run out.The Coast Guard’s post on Twitter did not say whether officials believe the debris is connected to the Titan, which was on an expedition to view the wreckage of the Titanic. It said the debris was discovered within the search area by a remotely operated underwater robot, and was being evaluated. The Titan was estimated to have about a four-day supply of breathable air when it launched Sunday morning in the North Atlantic — but experts have emphasized that was an imprecise approximation to begin with and could be extended if passengers have taken measures to conserve breathable air.
