Jerry Jeudy decided to clear the air Thursday. In the process, he showed the extent to which he’s frustrated by his lack of production so far this season, his spat last week with former receiver and current NFL Network analyst Steve Smith, Jr., persistent trade rumors and, most of all, the Broncos’ 1-5 start.“It’s always frustrating losing. Nobody wants to lose,” Jeudy told reporters at his locker. “Losing is the worst possible thing that can happen. That’s really frustrating.”The latest loss came a week ago at Kansas City, a game in which Jeudy got into it with Smith before the game after Smith torched Jeudy on television and called him, in part, “just a guy” and “an average wide receiver,” and then Jeudy danced behind an NFL Network live shot.“You don’t go to them in person and act friendly toward them and act like you didn’t just talk bad about them,” Jeudy said of Smith. “I don’t have no hate toward Steve Smith. He was a good player and all that stuff like that, but it’s just wha...One person shot by Denver police near East 47th Avenue and York Street

A national real estate firm said workers feel unsafe outside its office building at 18th and Blake in LoDo, an issue that it lays at the feet of its ground-floor tenant: 7-Eleven.But 7-Eleven said it is being scapegoated for downtown’s lingering problem of vagrancy. This debate between landlord and tenant played out in letters between lawyers last year. It escalated Oct. 16 when 7-Eleven’s corporate office sued the owner of 1755 Blake St.The dispute began in September 2021, when Seattle-based Unico paid $61.2 million for the five-story building. 7-Eleven had been a tenant for 11 years by that time.Within months of buying the property, Unico began complaining of problems there.“Over the last several weeks, one person has overdosed in front of the premises, a stabbing suspect fled into the premises, a partially clothed man slept in front of the store, a family slept outside (it), and an exterior window was shattered,” Unico’s property manager, Maria Clark, wrote to 7-Eleven’s corporate...At Donald Trump’s civil trial, appraiser recalls Eric Trump’s ‘lofty’ views on property value

By JENNIFER PELTZ (Associated Press)NEW YORK (AP) — The spotlight at former President Donald Trump’s civil fraud trial turned Thursday to his son Eric, with testimony and documents suggesting the scion envisioned a “lofty” value for a suburban golf course and was actively involved in appraisals he has said he doesn’t remember. The trial stems from New York Attorney General Letitia James’ claims that Donald Trump, his company and executives, including Eric Trump, fraudulently inflated asset values on financial statements given to lenders, insurers and others. The defendants deny the allegations, and the 2024 Republican presidential front-runner says the values actually were underestimated.About a decade ago, Trump’s companies sought appraisals of two of their properties in New York’s suburban Westchester County — the Trump National Golf Club and an estate known as Seven Springs, according to documents and testimony Thursday. On a night when the city passed a resolution castigating the Martinez Refining Company for their performance over the last 12 months, the refinery’s manager issued a set of apologies and an acknowledgment that if the company doesn’t get its act together soon, the consequences could be dire.“We understand that not only being a good neighbor, but truly our license depends on our ability to operate in a safe and responsible manner,” said Daniel Ingram, manager of the Martinez Refining company. “We don’t take these issues lightly.”Ingram’s report included a more full accounting of the spent catalyst release last November, when residents woke up to a layer of fine white silt on their cars and window sills. The Martinez Refining Company, whose sprawling campus defines the east side of the city, said the release was “non-toxic,” “non-hazardous”, and “naturally occurring” spent catalyst dust used in the refining process.Related ArticlesEnvironment | Big federal dollars for ...Review: Rolling Stones’ new ‘Hackney Diamonds’ album sparkles

(CNN) — Tensions are boiling over among House Republicans on Thursday afternoon as the conference searches for a viable path forward with Rep. Jim Jordan so far vowing to stay in the race to be the next speaker despite substantial resistance. Jordan affirmed Thursday that he is still running for the speaker’s gavel and said he plans to talk to House Republicans who have opposed his candidacy in two floor votes. The Ohio Republican faces an uphill battle to win over holdouts, however, and is under growing pressure from within the GOP conference to drop out. A closed-door GOP conference meeting on Thursday turned heated, multiple sources told CNN, with some members railing against Jordan, and one swearing at Florida Rep. Matt Gaetz, who led the rebellion against former House Speaker Kevin McCarthy, whose ouster has led to the more than two week leadership vacuum. There was also debate during the meeting over whether Republicans should support a resolution to temporarily exp...Latest news
