Lansingburgh administrator named 'Principal of the Year' LANSINGBURGH, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- Carrie Phelan, the Principal of Knickerbacker Middle School in the Lansingburgh Central School District, has been named the 2023 Principal of the Year by the Greater Capital Region Principal Center and the Capital Area School Development Association (CASDA). Ballston Spa CSD under shelter in place BALLSTON SPA, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- According to a message on the Ballston Spa Central School District's website, both the high school and middle schools began the day in a shelter-in-place due to a threat made on social media. The shelter-in-place was called out of an abundance of caution. All elementary schools in the district will be closed Tuesday for law enforcement to investigate the threat. As of 9:30 a.m., all common areas have been swept and the Saratoga County Sheriff's Office K-9 unit will be sweeping all classrooms out of an abundance of caution, according to the school website. For the first time in more than 100 years, St. Louis City voters will elect a board of aldermen with 14 members instead of 28.The Mallinckrodt Academy of Gifted Instruction at the Pernod and Hampton Avenues is one of the polling places for the new ward four. LOUIS - An interesting set-up in the atmosphere for Tuesday as we track two time frames for storms.  Temperatures in the St. Louis area TuesdayExpect a partly to mostly cloudy day Tuesday, breezy, and very warm. Temperature highs will be in the low 80s. Late Tuesday afternoon, widely scattered thunderstorms are possible, primarily just north of the St. Louis region in northeast Missouri and west-central Illinois. However, a layer of very warm air higher up in the atmosphere may keep these storms from forming at all. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. - Locals are voting on a recreational marijuana tax Tuesday.People in dozens of cities and counties are voting on recreational marijuana taxes Tuesday. This is Proposition M in St. Louis County, and Prop 3 in St. Charles County.This 3% sales tax would be in addition to a 6% state sales tax on recreational marijuana. That was set up in the constitutional amendment legalizing the adult use of the drug.It was approved by voters statewide last November. Injured Hermann officer to be transferred to Colorado ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. - Hermann Officer Adam Sullentrup's condition is improving after spending three weeks in a local ICU. Now the wounded officer is being transferred to a Colorado hospital that specializes in traumatic brain injuries.Sullentrup and his partner, Detective Sergeant Mason Griffith, were both shot while trying to arrest a suspect at a convenience store. Griffith died in the shooting. Sullentrup barely survived after being shot in the head, but now, his family says he's breathing on his own. 2 stabbed in Palmdale; assailant still at large Two people were stabbed in Palmdale late Monday and one of the victims is in critical condition, authorities said.The incident was reported around 10:50 p.m. in the 14200 block of Sequoia Avenue, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.Responding deputies found two people with stab wounds at the scene. The victims were taken to a hospital and one them was reported to be in critical condition Tuesday morning.A male assailant had fled the area on foot by the time deputies arrived, and no arrests have been made.No further details have been released.
